Mirena Rhee

Inspired by the multitudeness and wintriness of the landscape and the cityscape in New York city in December. Winter in New York is severe in cold and wind but only on the outside. The colors are not quite white or gray and there are always the yellows of taxis and the umbrellas. The lighting is blue and yellow from the sky and from the stores.

A landscape of hands, I recently started some large hands paintings in my studio on another continent and I already miss them. They are large and kind of dominate the room. It’s hands everywhere you look, it is strange.
